2 Part Series

"When Mankind was Young" will be the fourth official portfolio release by Eric Torriente. The works in this two-part series describe the beginning of civilization as history shows. These works consist of new drawings, paintings and sculptures of scenarios that leave the viewer pondering about the beginnings of mankind. Eric Torriente creates not only visual scenery's, but textual ones in which the paintings and sculptures become archeological artifacts themselves. During 2011, the entire two-part series of "When Mankind was Young" will get completed. Eric Torriente will continue to evolve his expressionistic style as these new works will take on a more experimental edge that draws lines into new styles of painting and sculpture.

In "The Last Glaciation", the first of a four-part visual anthology titled "When Mankind was Young", Eric Torriente presents large scale pieces with scenarios that leave the viewer pondering about the beginnings of mankind. The first work entitled "The Last Glaciation" re-creates the scenes of people re-emerging after the last glaciation which occurred thousands of years ago. These works serve as an omen to the earliest civilized man.

In "Neolithic Sanctuary", the second part of the two-part visual anthology titled "When Mankind was Young" started in 2010, Eric Torriente continues to presents works with scenarios that leave the viewer pondering about the beginnings of mankind and it's discoveries. These new large scale mixed media works take on a new stylistic turn and are encrusted with bright tones and transparent layering. These new drawings, paintings and sculptures become large artifacts of expressionistic imagery that tells the tales of the beginning of human civilization. .
